A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
The developer preview includes a native desktop interface and local streaming integration. It has been tested on a specific Mac and Ubuntu setup. The source download requires development tools and configuration; it is not yet a general-purpose installer.
Automatic internet connectivity and time-limited guest sharing are still in development. The current preview does not provide a ready-to-use way to invite someone on another network.
Public account setup and subscriptions are not available yet. Local streaming pairs do not require an Orbit subscription. Planned paid features will be announced when they are ready.
Available performance depends on capture, encoding, network, decoding and your display. Selecting a frame rate sets a target, not a guarantee. Orbit’s stream stats show what your session actually delivers.
Orbit builds on Sunshine and Moonlight, with its own interface and orchestration. Their open-source licenses and notices are preserved in the source preview. Orbit does not create a new video codec or streaming protocol.
